Default Salt water to fresh water ??

    Hello All,

I've just acquired a 120 aquarium. It was used as a salt water tank. Do I need to do anything besides just rinse it very well to switch it over to freshwater for my discus?

Also, I don't want to use a sponge filter, what's my best second choice for filtration on a nondrilled tank this size?

    Thanks for any suggestions...

I would suggest going with either a wet/dry filter or a couple of canister filters since you don't want to use sponge filters. I ran a homemade wet/dry on a 150 but I also had some sponge filters in there and the fish did quite well.

A couple of Aquaclear 110's will do a good job, too.

I'd run a wet/dry on my 75G but Dawn is afraid of a failure that will overflow on the carpet.
