Default Moving Discus to larger tank

022.JPG027.JPG I just got into Discus keeping in Aug. I have 7 discus in a 40gal breeder that I want to move to a larger tank. I am looking for a 120gal. The new tank needs to go where the old tank is. That means I have to put them somewhere while I take down the old tank and set up the new one. I was thinking of using my 32gal w/c barrel as a temporary home. Would this work or do I need to buy another smaller tank to put them in?

You can put them into anything, the 32 gallon barrel is perfect.

+1,or get some styrafoam,do like a 90% wc on the 40.Have some one help you move it somewhere else onto the styrafoam,I've done the floor in a pinch, fill, and then set up the 90 with no time issues.m_picture 48 018.jpg

Thanks, Whats the best way to get them into the barrel? Is tupperware or using your hands the way to go? I read that netting can damage the eyes.

It's up to you. You can lower the water level down low and then scoop them into a tupperware container. It's much easier than using your hand since your fish are juveniles.
