They generally work really well..I've used my '03 in past years to kill off a few deer just to prove the accuracy...Still keep it and the SKS around for their iron sights....enjoy 'em...(bolt guns are great; my fav is a 7mm Remington magnum..)looks good, I like the wartime oddities like Smith-Corona..funny, you can still buy ammo for old 30-40 Krags around these parts..

Nice rifle, Jose..I just gave up my .308 cash stash for two pairs of Stendker's...

Hello all, after a run through the dishwasher and a nice cleansing this thread is back. It got a bit side tracked yesterday and I will take the blame for that as I am the one that bumped it, however it is back now to its original purpose and state. I hope you will all join me in keeping it this way from now on. I encourage you to post and show us what you have but keep the political and hot topic posts out, I will do the same. Al was gracious enough to let the thread continue as long as other discussions were kept out. I know its a passionate subject that's near and dear to many of our hearts but out of respect for the families of the latest victims, Al and the forum's wishes, and other simply members I ask that we refrain from that debate/discussion.

I want to make it clear to those reading that in no way shape or form did I or anyone else posting here intend any disrespect towards the latest families or victims of violence and it is nothing but a tragedy for our country. If you haven't already seen it, this post by Al is something you should read and consider taking part in. http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showth...086#post958086

Again, please share your firearms with us but keep the political talk out.

    Thanks!
    -Matt

    Thanks Matt,
I appreciate that understanding here. Theres no doubt that emotions are high over this on both sides, but I really would prefer that we leave the politics and debate on guns to other places and venues. Share your passion for guns with those that can appreciate it here, but no debates on Gun control please by either side.. The debate rages on all over the place... it doesn't need to be here as well.

I hope that everyone will take the time to check out that Link and if you have't already done so, please help those in need of our support after this terrible tragedy. I really would like for the forum to help these people affected in Newtown and the surrounding area to Heal..

    Thanks everyone,
    Al
ps.. Just in Case anyone accidentally slips up.. we'll help out by moderating this thread to adhere to mine and Matt's request.

    Matt..

my grandfather, RIP.. had some guns from WWII & Korea.. He said i would get them passed.. but somehow my father snatched them,.. its ok.. there were several.. not much space in my apt. for the small collection..

i am going to have find out the names or take some pics and see if you can help me ID them.. since you seem to know a few things about them..

Understand the sentiment. While we are at it, we should not have any political debates and discussions on any controversial issues on the forum. Why stop at gun control debates?

Yun, Al clearly is limiting his request to the politics and debate on guns. Debates and discussions are welcome provided forum rules are followed. If you need further clarification I suggest you contact Al via PM.

I have removed a number of posts since Al and Matt's request to keep this about gun collections only. Despite Al and Matt's request it seems some members just want to stir things up.

Let me be clear here. There will be no more warnings. Any further provocative or political posts will be deleted and the poster banned. Anyone who feels they can make light of this with some smart alec comment or picture/video will also be banned. It is about time some people showed some courtesy and respect, if they cannot, they will have to find somewhere else to post.

Nice Josie, like the picture or black?

I keep putting off buying a pistol, so many rifles I keep wanting that the pistol is pushed to the back burner. Looking for a nice lever action rifle now lol.

Usually I agree, though a short stock shotgun or small carbine works just as well for me!

Thats why I asked Rod, down here they all get black guns...usually Glock 22s, Highway Patrol uses Glock 37 in .45 GAP. A lot of agencies let officers choose what their second carry will be, I've seen anything from another glock to an old style revolver.

Some of those old Marlins are very desirable these days Skip. The craftsmanship back then was second to none compared to what it is today.
