    Default Closed Loop Air system

I installed my closed loop air system yesterday and it was very simple to do (pictures today).

Once I knew where to place it in my fish room, the rest was easy. Using 3/4 pvc (no glue) it was simple. The parts I needed were under $25.00.

I picked up from Jehmco the LPH26 (up to 25 airlines) and 3 - 12 port manifolds. The system took me about 90 minutes to install. So now I can put away all my air pumps and I opened up 8 outlets on my wall for other things to plug in. The best part is, this pump is so quiet it is amazing.

One note is, you do have to open some valves to help regulate the amount of air going into your tanks. I also had to attach some line off the ports just to keep the air noise down from being left open. It is ok now, but I will check into getting a couple large diffusers for bleeding the unused air.

All in all, great setup, easy to do and no more single air pumps all over the place. I also fed a line up stairs to my main tank and no loss of air going up one level. Talk about a powerful pump!

Jeff - I look forward to seeing your pictures - I have been thinking about doing the same thing -10 air pumps running a little noisy in my little fish room - time to clean things up a little more and become better organized - need to do more reading about this subject to answer my questions

I'm almost regretting not buying the piece with the valves and doing it myself. It definitely wouldve saved me a lot of BS with leaky valves!

Very nice install - no glue on the pvc joints and no leaks I presume

    Thanks all.

No leaks as far as I can tell. When installing each piece, just make sure the pvc joints are very snug. If you get a loose piece, try another, they are cheap enough. I was lucky to find nothing loose all snug. And the pre-made manifolds will save you a lot of time and aggrevation as they are guaranteed not to leak and pre tested by Jehmco.

    Default Closed Loop Air system

Very nice a clean, I have a central air system too run mine off an 1/8 hp sweetwater blower. could run 100 tanks off of it but i got great deal. Mine came in handy the other day. My daughter had some friends over for a sleepover and I needed to blow up some air mattress, hooked up the hose I use to vacuum the tanks and had them inflated in minutes. Very handy systems that for sure.
