    Default Wiping tanks

Is it always necessary to always wipe down the tank wall of aquariums? How often should it be done?

I use a magnet float to do it. Is that wrong? If it is how and what do yall use and how do you do it? Do you do it before you WC or after you take water out before you refill? thanks...

Cleaning glass through magnet you will get scratch on your tank glass as I wipe my glass tank every 2nd day by a old filter sponge and am doing in middle of the wc.

I wipe it right before the water change so I can suck up most of the slime build up.

I wipe down everything in the tank once a week. I use a 3ft long wooden dowel I bought from crafts store and rubberband a kitchen sponge I bought from the dollar store. Seems as discus produce a lot of slime and bad bacteria can grow in it if tank walls/equipment is not wiped down regularly. That's what I read on this forum and just wiped my 65 gal tank down earlier today. Lol

Careful with the kitchen sponges....once upon a time I killed a whole tank of temensis cichla using a kitchen sponge. I dug through the garbage and found the wrapper for the said sponge and it clearly stated "not for aquarium use". Lesson learned THE HARD WAY.
