    Default Cloudy water

My discus planted tank is really cloudy. It's a 30 gallon aquarium and this has happened twice. Does anyone know maybe why this is happening

It's happened to me once, and that was because I didn't put any conditioner in. I realized right after I finished and put some in right away. Do you use Prime or something like that? If you do, it could be that your ammonia is too high and you'd need to do bigger and more frequent water changes. Hope this helps.

I had this problem recently. Tried everything mentioned above, all to no avail. Finally got a UV sterilizer as others have, and the tank became crystal clear in about 6 days of use. And it was very cloudy.

What color is the cloudiness? If greenish, it's algae. If greyish, it's probably bacteria. What filtration do you use? Has the tank been set up a long time?
