Don't know what that is, but it's nasty. I tought quick cure only killed expternal parasites. But this bug came out dead from inside a fish?
A few of my fish were twitching/scratching so I treated my tank with Quick Cure. After the third day of treatment this came out of a fish.
I do 50% water changes 2x a week with aged water. Tank temp is 82.
Is there anything I should be concerned about? Obviously the Quick Cure killed it. I am starting treatment cycle number two just in case this thing had eggs in the tank.

I am 99% sure that came out of a fish. I do have a sand base but it isn't deep and I stir it up all the time.
In hindsight I should have put a tape measure next to it. I'd estimate it at 2". It was very squishy like jelly.
thats a LEACH
are you feeding live blackworms or other live foods?
IMHO

hmm.. interesting i use to see them at times in my live blackworms..
however.. i still say its a leach..
*******
WAIT>. did you see this COME OUT Of the fish

I've had four of the fish for 2 years, four I got from Kenny exactly one year ago. Maybe one of the two vendors I used feeds live blackworms. I am pretty sure both said they only fed beef heart and bloodworms.
Thanks for the identification. I did not see it come out of the fish - I found it dead on the substrate. It could have lived in the substrate but just last month I did a full turnover of the sand. I took out my driftwood and stirred it all up combing through it.
could be a leech..they are a segmented annelid.
this one may have come out of the Discus..many fish will consume them. it does look like it may be partially digested.
typically you can see a distinct head(suction cup) and usually clear segments in the body.
stands to reason tho that the quick cure would kill any that were not consumed.
To me it looks like a Digenea or "Digenetic Fluke" ifit did in fact come out of this fish im positive that it is. It's a Digestive parasite with two suckers, one on the ventral one oral. There are nearly 6,000 described species ranging from microscopic sizes to 6 inches. They are very deadly and lay eggs in the thousands. If it is in fact one quick cure will NOT kill the eggs. They are very difficult to successfully teat but Praziquantel can kill them.
