Hi all
those of you running constant water changes do you still use media in your systems and is it necessary to cycle the tank initially!?
Thanks

You could get by without filtration but I hope your water is cheap. A flow though system is normally fairly inefficient. You have to push a lot of water to get the desired affect.

Re: No media with constant drip WC
I still use filtration and media on my tank and I am dripping around 80 gallons a day (no discus) but water is cheap here my water bill went from $25 a month to around $33

Re: No media with constant drip WC
I always use a sponge in my drip tanks. Lost some nice juvies years ago without any filtration in a drip system, about 20 gal per day drip in a 29 gal tank. This was before I learned about test kits so I don't know what the parameters were. The breeder told me it was the lack of a filter. I am still unsure but I've never tried it again.

No media with constant drip WC
I live on a farm and although water is cheap, heating it from 43 degrees is not.

+1 Dogbert4Pres... that's the main issue with constant drip WC systems.. unless you live in a tropical place and you donīt need heating.

Hi,
i order a "Multi-Stream Dripper" which is a knob adjusts water flow (link below), from amazon but it really hard to set the specific set flow, i was wondering if any of you can recommend me something better, that i can attach to a 1/4-Inch end pipe.
