Can we see a full tank shot? Pretty pair! Is there any live plants anywhere? Or anything from an existing aquarium?

It's a pool filter sand bottom that's half driftwood, half planted. It has the discus, 3 bristlenose plecs & 7 cories until we get our 135 set up in the coming weeks. The tank itself is a few years old. It's been a discus tank since November. All plants, sand, decorations, heater & filter were bought new since then, but are at least a month old.
I'll ask her to take some tomorrow.

No aquatic creatures were harmed in the creation of this signature, although a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.
Very cool - if any of the plants are new they could have brought in an egg...

Are there any freshwater fish eggs that take over a month to hatch?

That doesn't look like a discus fry to me. Maybe this was a tetra fry caught in your plants? Lets see where this goes.
Since it was 9 months ago that the fry referred to in the opening post was born, I had totally forgotten about this thread.
Our best assumption was that some fish eggs came in on a plant in January & one survived the dip. It ended up being some strain of rainbowfish & was killed by our discus at about 5-6 months old.

The only deaths in the last few weeks have been due to discus attacks on a cory, a cardinal tetra and two endlers in the 135 gallon discus tank, so everything seems to be back to normal.
Thanks for asking.
