I thought I should mention that a girl that I work with her cousin grows corals. His entire basement is similar to ours but is dedicated to growing corals. All his tanks are connected into one HUGE sump. It's pretty magnificent to say the least. If we're ever getting together and you have something on your want list I could get ahold of him and see what he has.

Beautiful tank! Love that rose anenome. Must be happy... I had 3 SW tanks 10 years ago the biggest being 100 gallons. They were so interesting to watch and not all that bad to take care of compared to discus. Thanks for sharing. Seeing yours makes me want to get back into it!
Great pics! That frogspawn is really nice. Sorry if I missed it but what LED fixture are you running? AI SOL? Ecotech Radion? Those fuzzy mushrooms are huge! I really like the simple setups almost as much as the die hard SPS reefs. All I would add to it is maybe a midas blenny, and a pair of black clowns. Oh and some zoanthids.

Last year I went from Halides to LED's.
Here is the company I got my fixture from. Except mine is a 2 color (whites and blues). It is quiet, bright and very well built.

Beautiful! I would like to try Saltwater some day.
I was asked to see pictures of my DIY sump. Here it is.
With my oversized protein skimmer. Just cleaned it so foam is working its way back up. Water is a bit high as I just finished my water change on the reef.

So Saturday when I started doing my weekly cleaning on the reef, I noticed something in the overflow box that heads down to the sump. There attached to the sponge that I have covering the outlet tube from big pieces of debris are about 12 babies. My trio of maroon clowns have been active again but the other fish eat the eggs or fry. This time some made it. I went out today and picked up a small mesh breeder box and I was able to remove the fry.
Since I have BBS made daily for my little juvies, I am trying to feed it to the clownfish fry. They seem very active now so I am hoping they make it. They can't be more than a 3 or 4 days free swimming.
Will try and get some pics tomorrow.

Very cool! The BBS might be a little big for them depends at what stage they have developed too but from what I have seen most people start with rotifers than switch to BBS I believe I hope they gobble up the BBS and you get some little maroons. They are some of my favourite clowns even though they can be little jerks sometimes. Heck even my black and white is a jerk if I get too close to the frogspawn he hosts but they are a type of damsel so its too be expected hahaha. Good luck with them! Oh and I almost forgot that if you wanted to see if anymore.are in the sump or the display at lights out you can take a flashlight and shine it at the surface and the fry will be attracted to the light.
Thanks Trevor. I don't have access to th rotifers right now sadly. I do have some Freezed-dried Cyclop-eeze. Maybe they can eat that?
I am hoping they live. The clowns have laid eggs a few times where the eggs were hidden my the rose anemone. Sadly my yellow tang and racoon ate them.
