Dave, thanks for the pics. I actually like all 5 and yet they're all totally different from one to the other. That's too bad the bull didn't kick his ***. Lucky matador!
These range from 20 years ago to current. Film to digital (I had all my negatives and slides scanned to be converted into digital files so I could share and edit).
Painted Hills in the John Day Fossil Bed unit close to John Day Oregon taken around 1995 with Pentax Spotmatic (camera made in 1968 before I was born).
Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, OR taken 2011 with Pentax K7 body and Sigma 50-500mm lens
Wrong side Up
taken in Puerto Spain in 1999 with Pentax ME Super and Kalimar (inexpensive) 500mm lens
he did walk away, but it took five other matadors to get the bull's attention
And some lightning from 2010
Yes I will chase a storm and shoot lightning if I can.
Finally some Serenity shot Sept 2012 with Pentax K5 body and Pentax 24mm f2 internal focus lens
I do shoot portraiture and weddings as well, but sometimes animals or other items are more predictable than people.

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.

Dave, love your pictures especially that last one. I recently got a nikon D7000 and love it but I am a rank newbie to a near professional camera and photography in general. My avatar is one of my better pictures.
Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
Thank you all for the kind critique.
Pat go to KEH.com as you can get some of the older manual Nikkor and Nikon lenses there. The prices are very good there and he under grades his gear so you usually get better than you think you are going to. I have purchased bodies and lenses from them and had excellent results. Also check out www.whcc.com for your printing (they are geared to the professional and you will need a credit card on file with them, but they send five 8x10s to you from your photos to make sure your monitor is calibrated).
I prefer to print on metalic paper (the old black and white paper that has copper oxide or aluminum oxide imbeded in the paper to enhance the contrast) and I love this paper for color prints. a 16 x24 on metalic paper mounted on matte board is under $50.00 delivered to me.
