Default Show us your monster size Discus Fish

Show us your monster size jumbo Discus you either raise from juvie, purchased, or seen in person/online.

    Post them as follow:

    • Strain Name
    • Breeder
    • Show Picture

Since my largest is only 6.5+" it does not qualify to be on this tread yet. So to start it off by showing these monster I saw online...

Can the heater in the first pic be used to guesstimate the size? I can't guess what size the heater is... other than it being Eheim... LOL

There was an old "biggest discus you've ever seen" thread or something like that on here years ago, Hans had some pics of some 9 inches on tape measures, I also remember seeing a very similar tony tan fish on tape measure that was in fact 10'

I'm also looking forward to see if there is any hobbiest here that has monster size fish they either purchase or raised. So far all we have seen are those above. I will wait and see if Toni will post some recent pic with tape measure on here as those need to be recognize again.

Well boys, I wish I had time and energy to pull my fish tonight, but I'm wiped out from double 90% WC's and taking care of a sick husband on top of a trip to the hospital to visit my son. Soooooo....

Trust me when I tell you that my discus are even larger now, with one more hitting the jumbo dumbo size in the last 6 months. I'll post my original pics here and also give you the current sizes, ok? And as soon as I have the time I'll grab them out and toss them on a plate again. =)

    Size: 8.5"
    Age: 18 Months
    Strain: Marlboro Red
    Breeder: Stendker

And a pic of him in the tank from a couple of days ago.
    Size: 9"
    Age 2 years.

    Size: 8.75"
    Age: 18 Months
    Strain: Red Turquoise
    Breeder: Stendker

And in the tank with the Marlboro Red directly behind him. Pic is older, I really need to get a snapshot of this guy now! He is currently 9" and 2 years old.

I don't have a pic of my Red Scrib on a ruler, but here's the most representative pic of him.

    Size: 8.75"
    Age: 18 Months
    Strain: Red Scribbelt
    Breeder: Stendker

I really will work on getting the other 3 jumbo's measured this week with some nice tank shots of them too. The flachen is about 8.5" and the Brilliant Turq (my "runty" one) is just over 8". Oh gosh, forgot to mention the FlachenSS! He's 8" too. LOL

Wow Toni thank you for sharing... Cannot wait to see new updated pics with measurement. Those are indeed monster size discus. That MR is so round and beautiful. You have to get him to breed and spread that gene
