Wow, all your fish in your pics are 2yrs or younger and are huge. I wish I could see fish of that size in person! Looks like it doesn't take someone from Germany of Asia to raise a huge fish.............

Here you go from her old grow out thread... If i recall Toni can correct me if I'm wrong but she uses the regular frozen San Francisco bay Beef Heart Plus... no special mix...

So true Warlock! It wasn't magic food, it was just a lot of water changes.

I thought that they were done growing at 18 months when I took the pics and made the thread. I was wrong...again. <sigh>

I will have owned them for 2 years in April and they are still growing very slowly. Hopefully they truly are done now??!! Heck the younger Stendkers are still growing like weeds and then I've got my 10 month old Golden's to worry about. Gonna hafta buy a bigger tank soon.

I think 8"+ discus are just not that common. I'm happy if a couple out of a group reach 7"

I've been there to Josie many times and she does have large discus but they look more 7"-7.5". Josie will have to confirm this or maybe when I go pickup my pre-order fish I'll take a tape measure and ask Josie to allow me to measure her biggest fish...

She has a HUGE tiger turquoise in her 300 gallon that i offer to buy every weekend but she refuses to sell it lol...i'd say its at least 8" if not more. Biggest fish in her tank of adults.

Yes I was saying we are not seeing many because they are not that many. You might think you have an 8" discus until you measure it and realize how big 8" is. The only ones I've seen pics of are Toni's. I think Hans had some jumbos he had pics of on rulers but I don't think they were 8".
