Agreed. That's why we need to see measurement if possible.

It is coming only had a short time at home and had many things going on. I will see how I go in a week and half when get back as I been wondering how they measure up too but at an eye the sponge filters are around 5" diameter and the largest will be around the 20cm or so.
    Thanks Timmy

No aquatic creatures were harmed in the creation of this signature, although a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

    Toni,

Do you have some tank shots of these large fish? How are they grouped?

I thought that they were done growing at 18 months when I took the pics and made the thread. I was wrong...again. <sigh>

I will have owned them for 2 years in April and they are still growing very slowly. Hopefully they truly are done now??!! Heck the younger Stendkers are still growing like weeds and then I've got my 10 month old Golden's to worry about. Gonna hafta buy a bigger tank soon.

How many "hobbiests" can feed six times a day and change water twice per day? I think the size is both feeding and water.

I've learn that the key to growing out large Discus is clean daily WC and a healthy diet of high protein food... My largest is now 7"+ grow from 5.5", but has one more inch to grow before it can be call a monster size discus.

WC Regime during the 4"-6": 20% morning and 100% at night

Feeding Regime: Feeding with BH in the morning, Auto feed three times while at work, and feed BH at night before WC.

I think that power feeding/wc schedule has to be kept up for up to two years to reach that size.

Yes, this!!! That's exactly what I do with my discus when they are 4"-6" except that I aim for a slightly larger WC in the morning and a slightly smaller one at night because I'm lazy and 100% WC's are harder to do using straight tap water.

WC's drop back a little bit to once per day after they are over 6", but the size of the WC remains at 90%. Feedings continue at 5-6 per day till they reach 8", but I do cut back on the beefheart feedings and substitute spirulina (frozen cube or flake food) and one extra serving of FDBW's.
