Pork heart is not bad for discus. Pork heart has more protein than beef heart. They're both good, it all comes down to preference. I prefer beef heart.

I think the beefheart, orxheart or buffallo are tougher on the sinews.
Porkheart has more outer fat to clean is smaller with higher porcentage of tendons. The chair is softer than beefheart thought

From discus holland article, writer did a comparison on feeding tubifex vs BH and Pork Heart.
Hi results in ranking of growth is 1st tubifex, 2nd Pork Heart and 3 Beefheart.

That renews my interest in feeding with Pork Heart as it is easier to get in Kuala Lumpur. Just order 1 heart at 90 cents usd weight 3 pounds on average.

    Nice!

    Ben,
I don't know about that article but I am sure theres alot of variables to it. All 3 foods are high protein/high fat type foods so should have good growth potential and have been shown to. On your Pork decision.... another factor may be health. Your health.

Its something that never really made it to mainstream media until recently but since Heart meat is generally used raw for Discus, its worth considering the risk, especially where you are located.

Jay that works too.. I know quite a few that use Ground Turkey breasts and if you are lucky enough to find them Turkey hearts. If the fish isn't taking to it, try adding some seafood to the mix and some garlic.
