Looks very professional Ralph! Nice job!
Well since this holiday was extended as us Civil Servants are always over worked...LOL... I decided to finish my prototype acrylic cylinder K1 filter. This cylinder is 18 inches tall by 5 inch dia. Ends caps were made of from a sheet of plexi using the trusty hole-saw and siliconed caps on. I've placed it in my 112g for testing to see how it will seed itself and what modifications are needed.
The only drawback so far....should have gone 4 inch dia. because no one makes affordable 5 inch caps unless you’re willing to spend hundreds on clear schedule 40/80 fitted caps.
The other thing is my plastic air stone blew off when I connected my airline...however still works.
I'm going to make some changes which is why I only assembled this one for now.

Thanks Chad.
I know it may be somewhat over-kill but tried a different alternative to an upside down pop bottle in my tanks.

Great idea Ralph! I love the looks of it and have been thinking of something very similar for sometime and have often wondered why nobody has built something like this and why no companies have caught on to it. It looks like the start of something very promising and I applaude you for taking the initiative and creating this.
Awesome! When can I place my order

Great
Good job Ralph. Where were you able to find the components for this?

Cool! Thanks for sharing. That's the best look K1 filter I seen so far!
I like it...i've always had something like this in mind, just never got around to trying it. I was thinking section off like a 4"space at the end of the tank with drilled acrylic and having an in-tank type sump of K1. About how much did it cost you to make this Ralph?
Mike
I tried my best Josie...gives you an idea.
