    Default Bossman is Here

    Hi all,

My current pair Blue Diamond and Leopard O ring gene having a great batch of frys right now about 2 days attach to Mommy only. I know she is tired something and those frys switch between her and the sponge filter. The Leopard is doing nothing just stand there watching Mon raising kids or block my view urrrrgg . I saw him turn dark once and that is it. I have him over 2 yrs and now close to 7 inch but never paid up with anyone before the Blue Diamond. Have anyone dealt with bossman before? I hope, he's not going to murder any his own frys and turn himself in

    thank you,

    tony

    Tony,

I remove the "non-participating" fish, especially if they are causing disharmony in the tank. The single parent can handle the fry without an issue.

This is their 2nd try (the 1st try did not do good only about 14 frys attach 4 days). do you think he'll learn if i leave him in there?

thank you Chad for your reply

All depends on your objective here. If you are trying to produce fry now, I'd pull him. If you are wanting to try and groom the pair, possibly let them go and see what happens. Since this is a new pair you could go through several or many lost spawns. Either way you approach it the most likely will grow in to a good pair.

I've got a pair of Stendker Leopards that, at about day 12 the male was carrying all the fry and the female almost seemd upset that none of the fry liked her. LOL! Anyway, she was making quite a stink about it and beating on the male a bit. I took her out. She's still mad but the fry and dad are doing great! A couple more weeks and I'll put the pair back together.

Every pair is a bit different... Keep that in the back of your mind.

I have a pair a Cobalt Female and a Snow Leopard Male. The Female is doing most of the carrying every time i look in their tank he is the one that is very protective and covers the female and the fry even though he is not carrying them.

thank you Walter, Chad and Ismael for giving me more possible ways and ideas for each different situation. i am not looking for frys at this point just having fun breeding and try to give them best care that i can. I am at work now, so cant take him out but I want to keep him in there so he'll learn to become a real DADDY. Maybe he's just shine to first love .

By the way, good luck with your pair and update the lazy "non-participating" fish if you can please.
