Yes I have some updates. Fish room is done. Still need to get 2x 120G tanks for the bottom of 2 racks. I moved my discus into the room about 2 days ago. Fish are doing great except for the ARSG which is recovering from HITH. All the small holes have healed and the large hole has started to shrink. I am so ready for more fish but the wife is not. Looks like I am going to have to take the family to Disney before I am allowed new fish.

Nice! You definitely have more restraint than I would with all that tank space. The day I'd have it set up then all the tanks would be packed one way or another and then I wouldn't have room for grow outs. In other words, you're doing it right (my opinion). Okay, I'll admit, I haven't gone through the whole thread (but maybe thoughts have changed since the beginning), but what strains are you shooting for? I see what looks to be RTs and then I see the ARSG and then the silver pigeon (you planning on crossing those two?). Any others you thinking about?

Thanks for sharing by the way! Keep'em coming!

My next order is going to be 4-5 more silver pigeons, 1 more Piwo RT and a couple ARSG. At that point the silver pigeons will go to their own tank. I wouldn't mind crossing a RT and ARSG but I will only let the silvers pigeons breed with each other unless I get another PB strain at some point.

Any reason why you went with the tubing instead of connecting strait PVC to the bulkhead?

Main reason was just because I wasn't to sure of my handyman skills. With the flexible tubing I didn't have to worry about exact measurements. I just bent the tube into a hole.

Here is an update. Fish are doing well. I am still chugging along with the water changes. They are growing well but are always skittish when I come in the room.

    Good luck!
It looks like he used exterior plywood from the picture, which can take some moisture. (In housing construction, it's outside and gets rained on for like a year. The plywood will help stiffen up the stand. Not critical, but since he already did it, he should leave it in.

Good point on painting though. If he doesn't do it now, he never will lol.
Probably a good idea to paint, although I've always been lazy and never painted my 2 x 4 stands, and there is no rot to worry about. Wood can take an occasional splash of water from the syphon. Now if he's one of those guys that just syphons water to the basement floor and lets it roll down to the drain, then yes, he needs to take special precautions because the end grain of the wood on his stands will constantly be damp.

Edit: sorry for responding to post over a year old..
