    Default A quick birding expedition

I got this photo today after going out to my inlaws' house and seeing the American Avocet and Black Necked Stilts in a little marshy area. After seeing these I went home and grabbed my camera (Pentax K5), long lens (Sigma 50-500 f 4-6.7), and two teleconverters (2x, and 1.4x Sigma APO).

I crop, and a little editing and viola.

    American Avocet

    Thank you Jeff and Kent.

They come here to nest and then are gone, we also get the Black Necked Stilts here. I just got lucky to have seen these and still have them there when I got my camera from home.

Thank you Mary. I hadn't either until about 15 years ago and only rarely have seen them since.
