My first discus - thoughts on sex/variety?

Hello All,

This is my virgin post as I just got my first discus about 3 weeks ago. (S)he has so much personality! Pics below (including one of my bolivian ram that has really colored up since adding the Discus). Could anyone help me figure out exactly what sex and variety this discus is? I want to say its a cobalt, but based on the striation pattern I am not entirely sure that is accurate.

I would say cobalt too and the striations should go away with time. As far as sexing goes you might as well flip a coin. There's no sure thing when sexing discus even at larger sizes. Only way is to see them spawn.
