Jeff shoot the video at night with all room lights off just the tank is lit, that way you wouldn't get any glare.
Nice looking tank!
Here is a short video of my 110 discus family.
They are at the 1 year mark and some have been pecking at the cone and even the glass. They too are raised in 50% RO and 50% Tap water. They eat anything put in the tank.
I am using my Nikon D3100 and could use some advice on getting a much clearer video. The lens I used is the standard lens (18-55mm). I do have other lens to try. Want to reduce the glare though.

Jeff - you have done a great job with them - the colbalts and scorpions have developed nicely - some of those turks have a very nice pattern if they are still for sale some one could get some nice discus

I've really got to get down your way one of these days and see things in person. Lots of nice eye candy that's for sure.

Two other options for getting clear video are 1) put the lens flush against the glass (will limit the field of view obviously), and 2) do a DIY matte box. You can make them out of cardboard very easily or go a bit fancier with plastic sheeting and hinges and make a sudo proper one. You can also create essentially a giant matte box using a big black sheet (even blue will do since your background is blue) and pin it around the corners of the tank, allowing the camera to peak in from the center. Then with the tank light on, and possible side/back lighting you will have some really nice results. I can be tricky, and at times not perfect, but it is night and day better. Personally I use a Cavision mini 3x3 matte box, and it is pretty nice. But DIY can block out more completely simply because you can go huge and shoot from further back.
Jeff... They are beautiful. I just got my first big order from Kenny and am excited to get to your point but also enjoy the journey to get there! I wish I had some tips on getting better filming but I can't even get a picture downloaded let alone video! Any pointers? Thanks, Joy
Thanks Joy, the best way to get pics up is to upload them to Photbucket then copy the url and paste it in the "insert image" area in your message.
Thanks everyone. Will work on better video. I think I have too much light in the fishroom and its reflecting from all directions.

Thanks for the help Jeff and good luck to you!
freude88 you can even just pin a sheet to the wall above the fish tank, and basically make a tent like when you were a kid. Then get under it and make sure the sides are not letting light in. Then, feel the joy
