Beautiful flower horn cichlid. My fav is the red kumfa, the problem with is that it's so darn expensive. Lol! Feed it sumo red, to make the red patch more pronounced.

Already showing signs of a kok....just treat him like a discus and give him big frequent wcs and he'll be a giant in no time.

defnitely..if you want a quality FH u need to spend the big bucks..not as much as before. Here's my most expensive FH before it met an untimely death due to being spooked by my dad and went 100mph to the other side of the tank. Only 5.5" at the time.

Wow ! Nice shape in the kok. So sad that such a beautiful fh died. Were you feeding it sumo red?

Flower horns are so beautiful. The problem is that when you know what you're looking for in a flower horn, that's when it gets expensive. Theirs a guy here in El Paso who breeds and sells them. I saw one that I really liked, it had beautiful flower pattern, color and kok. Well the guy was asking $2000.0 for it. The fh was only 4.5 -5".

Hey Chris, I used to feed him Chingmix SP100 Headbooster and Maxima, Chingmix Premium Staple, Hikari cichlid gold and bio-gold, Hai-feng fast color, Dainichi cichlid, just a variety of foods. I think I still have a ton leftover. Anyways he got a varied diet and was very healthy. This was a bad pic..colors are kinda washed out. His head was redder with silverish pearls and his body was yellower. I got him in a group buy from Indonesia for $500 + shipping costs. I bought more FHs after his accident even raised one to 12" but was never as into it anymore as nothing I got after was near what I had with him. Although I doubt I will pay as high as I before. Right now I'm enjoying a tank full of fish instead of a single fish. One day I'll venture back in though.

Yikes! This was just an impulse buy. He was around 3 inch wheni got him and he's probably around 4 now. So an inch in just over a month. He gets my BH mix and loves that stuff. Quickly turned into a snob and won't eat anything else. It's in a 55 BB tank with AC 30 and a marineland that's rated for up to 65 gallons I think. It's a happy little fish. I knew nothing about these and it was only $30 bucks so I said what the hell and brought it home.
