Oh! Rabbits too... can't forget the rabbits scattering from our yard when our headlights catch them at night.
Very cool Pat. We have a lot of turkey and deer on our property too. We also occasionally see a red tailed hawk, owl, fox, coyote, raccoon, groundhog or bobcat. Various snakes, birds & squirrels too. ;D
I haven't seen our jake flock in the last few weeks, but the hen flock that roams our property has a bunch of chicks right now. On my way home from work last Wednesday, I almost hit them as they were crossing the road when I came over the hill. Here are a couple cropped shots I took with my phone while I was sitting in the car.
The next day I was sitting on the patio & snapped these shots, with my phone, of a deer & fawn trying to decide if it was safe to avoid the tractors rolling hay and go down to the lake for a drink.
I really need to get a nice telephoto lens for our canon dslr & start keeping it with me.

No aquatic creatures were harmed in the creation of this signature, although a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Great shots, both of you.
That is cool David. We get the fawns too. The three turkeys chicks are already half the size as the adults. Hardly see rabbits.
Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
Pat, you need to catch alive and then feed it nice clean food for a month or so to purge the wild taste out. The same is done with wild boar to clean them up. Some of my Cape workers get them, feed them corn and when ready they taste better than any store bought animal...

everyone does. I don't get mine until 2pm. Jeff
Yes, we live on a rural route. They guarantee here by 4:30pm, but i wouldn't change it for the world. I can still send my daughter outside and tell her to be home by dark. We can tack up the horses and go for a ride on backroads, or down the creek. and not meet a car or person for hours. Our closest neighbor is 1/4 mile up the road. There's nothing like it.
