Turquoise Severum--XLG (8.5"±) Yonkers, NY

I believe it to be a female turquoise severum. I've had it since it was about 4-5 inches and has grown to 8.5" in about a year. Beautifully colored fish featuring greens, blues, and oranges. Voracious feeder and always welcomes viewers enthusiastically. Pictures do not do justice. Selling because I am converting to discus fish. Come check her out. Asking $60, but I will consider respectable offers and fancy pleco trades

I'd recommend at least a 55 gallon because she loves to swim!

whats the sure way to know? I read somewhere that males have lots of squiggle patterns on their face while the females don't. I have another type of severum that has more pronounced facial squiggles than this one so i assumed that this one was male.

Females will have solid faces. Males have striations on their face, particularly on the nose and under the eyes. As you can see with your fish there are marks under the eyes and across the nose.

Try craigslist, it is a very nice fish but I don't think you will get $50 for it.

I didn't think so at first but I've seen much smaller ones go for more than that at a few lfs

You are not a LFS though, post on craigslist and see what people offer. Your post may get deleted so you might have to play the "adoption fee" game
