Hi
i have recentley purchased discus fish, i have six.
thiss morning i was looking at the fish and saw a pinkish ball by three of the discus fish.
is it possible they have started breeding.
help
thank you
Discus eggs are usually about the size of the head of a common pin, maybe just a tad bigger and vary in color depending on the type of discus. I've had one female that only laid a few dozen eggs, but usually they lay in excess of 100 and often lay several hundred. It's possible someone ate the rest and just missed one, so it's certainly possible.
Is one of you discus of the red variety? IME they tend to be the ones that lay pinkish eggs.
