A Morning at Lake Lizzie

So Tom and I have a state park about 20 minutes from the house and Tom likes to take Belle (our lab) down to the park of a walk and swim. The park is about 1000 acres with Lake Lizzie in the corner of the park. The park mainly consists of pine and oaks scrub lands.

We have had lots of rain this summer so there was lots of standing water. Sort of like this.

So this thread mainly consists of pictures of native wildflowers so just a heads up in case you wish to bail

Believe these are Gall berry flowers. The berries are a great source of food for wildlife

I didn't Barb. We went late enough to miss the morning mosquitoes and early enough to beat the heat. It was perfect.
