Here is an older video showing interactions between the breeding female Tefe and two males. A little wild behavior...

It was SO much fun to revisit your tefe's this morning Pat! They look great and you've done an outstanding job of making them happy and healthy.
Now if only I had the space in my house to add another big tank. <sigh>

120g - 10 discus, 4 cory's, 50+ Cardinals for now... give it a month and it'll change!
Sounds like an excellent idea Toni.

Here the parents are tending wigglers which are the fuzzy looking mass in front of dad who is in the back.

Keep the videos coming Pat - nice break from reading threads - seems like a lot of wigglers around the house - great job

Pat. These videos are beautiful, but seeing your discus in person was an amazing treat. Thank you so much!!!

Hey Pat,
Awesome! I am in love, those fish in a natural type environment so incredible!

They say the eyes are the porthole to the sole and looking at your videos you can see the change in emotion, through the eyes. That fierce look like don't you dare touch my babies, to the tender sweet look caring for the eggs. This is a pretty little vid of my wild Tefe pair with mom tending her eggs and even telling dad off when he pecks at the far side of the eggs. Do discus talk...you bet ya they do. I was able to catch mom in a little bit of sun. Lights her up nice.
I read that the bladder is used to communicate through sound to other fish. Also used to amplify sound. I have got to find a system sensitive enough to pic up that sound, and of course the software to eliminate all the other sounds. Something to isolate the bladder sounds.
My pic are not great with the lighting really don't like LED lighting for photographs. So will continue to try to get a decent color pic. I can say yes my greens look like Tefes. Although if you pressed me I would say I would not be able to tell one green from another.
OC yes they look like the pictures in the link. Yes Pat and OC I love greens.
Wonderful videos Pat, really nice to waltz into the lives of Tefes. This will be a treasure trove for all who desire to have wilds.

Coree, I am more then familiar how discus use their eyes...not sure about the bladder however. Seems that discus have plenty of communication tools.
