Very good read Pat. Also jealous of your wilds as well. Keep it up...Bill
forgot to mention, you're a great admin and really sure lot of ppl agree with me. Keep up the good works.
Nice presentation with great photos Pat. If I ever get back into discus it will be wild greens.
Congrats! Nice reading and beautiful fish!
Great read! Thank you for sharing your stories and pictures, Pat. You have been a great inspiration to a lot of people, including myself. I would not achieve what I did with my Cuipeuas without your generous advice. You have a special touch with wild discus and with the wild people in this forum I think your discus thrive because you treat them the same way you treat people here as a forum moderator: with dedication, patience and kindness. It is great to have you here in this community.
One question: what is the origin of your forum name ("Second Hand" Pat)?
Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
Thanks Mauro, I am not the only one with a way with wilds.
You would not be the first to ask. It is actually my handle from one of the reef forums and the second hand part was intented to a re-entering the reef hobby after a long hiatus (raising my daughter) from having large aquaria (180 gallon). Not sure that makes sense but did that the time.

YOUR FISH LOOK SUPER THANKS
Good read!
Do you still have that reef tank?
Thanks for sharing Pat. You have a real natural ability with the wilds> I suspect you would be equally successful with domestics if your interest was there. My observation is that you have a strong desire to learn and succeed. You then seek out "experts" and soak in all you can learn.
I also want to thank you for all you do for the hobby. Most people probably aren't aware of how much time you put in (in the background) with Simply and NADA. It is appreciated!!
To me your group of Cuipeua is one of the prettiest groups of discus I have seen.........wild or domestic!!

Aw thanks Larry, very nice of you to say that. I do seek out outside sources. There are a couple guys on the finarama forum (Ed, Dirk and Larry) who have been most helpful also. The finarama forum does have a wild discus section also. When the heckels come of age there are two guys on Facebook I am hoping to hit up on heckel breeding. One of them has heckel fry which is just about to go free swimming.
I enjoy my work on Simply and NADA. I must admit that Simply is getting the lyons share of my spare time. You may have noticed that the Cuipeua group has a few new faces. Mark has been very helpful with that. Also I do have a couple domestics...a couple of Forrest Giant Red Turq. They are both super fish and growing nicely.
