So when will the big tank be up and running?
Can't wait to see it!
I am soooo waiting to see this. I can't wait to see what you have put together.

My contractors built the base shell this past week, the outer shell is being built. The outer is maple and will be stained to match the office furniture. I am really excited to see the final product myself for the cabinet.
We will be working on the plumping this weekend.
The shell is completely solid. I am thinking of using it as a tornado shelter!
Ask them to please hurry and get it done

I'm checking every day just to see if there any more changes lol can't wait to see the end product
A little while longer, lol! Today we got the tank drilled for the over flows and for the return line. We also got the background put in, fitted for the overflows and drilled as well (see picture below, the upper overflow).
I am happy to say, that the overflow holes match the holes in the background perfectly in all three dimensions. It sure is good to work with contractors that I know and love, their skills translate so well to this project.
I believe we also got the final design and almost all of the plumbing parts purchased for the project and here onsite.
The outer shell of the cabinet is stained and ready to bring over and install. Parts of that will happen tomorrow. I claim by Christmas the tank and all of the plumbing will be installed. I will probably start working on the sump after that is done.
Very cool.

sounds like it is coming along nicely, love to see the pics, keep them coming.
Nice.....
Between last night and today we were able to get the background fully assembled within the tank and glued those panels together so they would function as one moving piece today. Once put together there were seams between the background panels, but I had a foam product that is made for aquatic situations and is safe for fish and plants, and we blasted that through any of the seams. We set the background using a good amount of silicon on the bottom.
We had done all of the internal overflow plumbing, and got a start on dry fitting the outside plumbing to the sump as well.
In the next few days we will be plumbing various aspects of the water system to the sewer system in the home. More work is happening on the cabinet as well!
Wow, it is realy starting to come together. Its looking great.
Tell me about your drilled holes for the overflow. Size? distance from the top /left /right? What are the panels like for the back ground? Can you show more pictures of them?
