I see you had the one tank built into the wall. Why did you not chose to have the large one built in flush as well?

my train room is in the room, where I would have put it, plus there is a support post right where it would have gone.

The final two components are installed as of today. Saturday, the Aqua UV 57 watt Sterilizer went in and today I finished installation of the CO2 system. I am going to be looking around for something like insulation board to put on top of the sump for heat control, but other than that we are good to go.

So the big day came yesterday, and the Discus are in the tank and having a great time. Thanks to everyone who has followed the project, and given encouragement. A million thanks to Josie and Chicago Discus who helped out on this project in so many ways to help it come to a successful end. Below is a link to Josie's section of the forum where she has published a You tube video which I found extremely helpful for those wondering about acclimation procedures. She hand delivered and acclimated the fish for me and let me tell you, it went smooth. Plus it shows some awesome footage of my tank, and the beautiful fish.

Appreciate your thoughts, under Chicago Discus posted a nice You Tube video of the whole event. Since the big release at least one pair had bred twice, they need to get the care thing down, and move out another male that is wanting a piece of the action.

The system has been up and running really well since my fish came, every time I take the camera out
they know they are going to get a treat!

This was a really nice pose though from one of the female fish tonight.

I have made several changes to the system:

Added FX6 with Seachem Matrix
Added Filstar XP with Seachem Matrix
Removed K1 media.
Added different configuration of Poret foam 10ppi -> 20 ppi -> 30 ppi
Added a reactor for Purigen and Phosban.
Added additional water evacuation capacity as this is a drip system.

Thanks Ricardo, they are getting big. There are a couple that are even bigger! I have a 110 gallon sump that uses poret foam, there is a magnum 350 that cleans the sump. I run all kinds of good stuff in there like, UV sterilizer, co2, purigen, phosban, ph probes, heat, etc. I alos run those canisters I mentioned for big time biological. I'm happy at how everything turned out, and the fish really seem to be thriving.

Hi Frank. I've read your thread and watched the video. Your tank is beautiful. I understand you've got rid of your K1 media in the sump. It would be great to have some feedback as to why you've decided to do away with the K1. Was it the noise or some other reason? Is the new configuration any better? Thanks for sharing
