Be honest with them Brandon. You moved with the expectation of being able to work enough hours to make a living. Sorry you are in this situation.

Well this adventure has a sour taste in my mouth at the moment. It been almost a month since I have last worked a full week(more than 8) hours. Bills are starting to pile up. When we were asked to make the move we were told that they'd be ready when we arrived up there. This obviously was false. I'm going to meet with them in 15 minutes or so and express my concerns. Would it be too much to ask them for a paycheck (not pay advance) even though I didn't work? I'm not looking for pity but more so advice. Thanks everyone!

Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
Thanks Pat! Well our meeting went well. I expressed my feelings and told them what I thought needed to be done. We ended on the note of both Mandi and myself being paid for 40 hours a week whether we get it or not. So one battle has been won. Next will be actual start date of the restaurant opening.
That is great news Brandon

Hey there guy, glad to hear I don't have to give you any pity. I have always found that pity lies at the bottom of a bottle and gives you a head ache the next day and then you remember nothing has changed.

Glad to hear how things worked out Brandon.

Brandon, as a person who knows a little about contracts and verbal agreements, get this news in writing buddy. You should have proof for future reference should you ever need it. Tell them it is not personal, just business.

They are all wise with those suggestions. Contracts need to be written down, memories are short and sometimes opportunistic. When it comes to money I have found many with short memories. Cover your butt on this.
