Thanks, they are gorgeous and so expensive to restore.Tom's bother has restored an old country store they call the Corner Shop. They have a lunch and dinner menu plus plus serve the old fountain drinks it was famous for in it's hey day. I have pictures of that and will create a thread in the near future with pictures.
Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
What a shame, to see these homes go into disrepair. Time for a ski resort, some B&B's unique shopping and then placed on the net as a tourist stop, maybe even a horse and buggy.

I should have looked at this sooner. What great pictures of some beautiful old homes!
As a WVU grad that brought back a lot of memories when traveling around WV to check out the state (not originally from WV). Thanks for posting them, Pat. Also, there are whole towns (some pretty large) where the populations have disappeared but the buildings and a few people are still there (after the coal rush slowed down). It's cool and creepy at the same time. If bored then google image Welch, WV and you'll see pics of the main drag from the 40's and it's packed with cars, teenagers running around, businesses booming... then you'll see pictures taken within the past decade with the same image/frame but with just the buildings and main drag.. no people. Not like a portion of a city that turned ghetto and the money only moved several blocks over; but instead, everyone just left.
