R, you have me thinking about one of these. You could always bleed off air if needed. Get the bigger one.
When I first have my al40 it was only on a 75g and 20g sump. The sump had 4 8" air stones the cheap blue ones from pet smart and one 1 1/2" ball air stone in the tank, I kid you not full blast and those air stones were shooting water out of the sump like a water show at the Bellagio. I'm sure either one would do fine. And it does not take much to move k1.

Going bigger usually is better, you can always expand. Only thing that stink about bleeding off the air is the noise.
Chris
R, we need to do a bit more research. Both of these might be a bit much and Chris has a point on the noise.

I would personally give ken a call he will steer you straight, may even have a better option for you although Alitas are darn good pumps.

This might be a better choice http://www.aquaticeco.com/subcategor...lent-Air-Pumps

So there is not really a way to stop/prevent the noise? What about those little black things that plug the air holes?..the ones the whisper filters come with..
The noise will come from bleeding the air if the pump is way to much. Check with Kenny tomorrow.

Kenny of course
