Hope this was the right spot to post this thread. We love our discus but we also love salt water fish and all of the other salt water creatures!
A few pics of our days snorkeling in Mexico. It was my first time I was pretty scared at first cause I have never been in the water with fish swimming around me and I am not a good swimmer.I had the best teacher who I am sure after a half hour of me putting on my snorkel putting my face in the water and saying there was no way I can do this then taking the snorkel off over and over and over I think he was becoming maybe a bit inpatient with me. So finally i got in and I will say thank god for flippers this was beautiful WOW thank you baby for the most incredible experience. The pics are not that great but anyone who has snorkeled knows the beauty. Please share any of your underwater creatures pics would love to see them

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.

I used the GoPro Hero 3 black edition. The only thing with it is that it does not have any zoom. So you have to get close to the subject to get good detail underwater. I put it on a head mount for a couple of snorkel trips and then held it in my hand for a few. I would have ideally liked to mount it on a swiffer mop collapsible handle and used that to get close to the fish. But could not get around making that jig before the trip.
Some people just use a waterproof bag king of enclosure for snorkeling. But I did not want to risk my SLR in a bag. Plus the GoPro is small and allows the use of hands freely underwater. Which is quite helpful if you are swimming in a swarm of jellies!
