It has to do with fat and protein. Venison is 90% protein, has anyone tried chicken hearts and turkey hearts, I know they are small but can be purchase by the pound and are found in grocery stores.
I will look into them next time I'm there then. Thanks

Sorry, not possible. Almost all land based animals are at least 75% water, making your claim impossible. Perhaps you meant to say venison is 90% lean meat?Venison is 90% protein

Besides what John said about the fat going through the fish undigested and fouling the water, the fat in the meat to begin with will go bad quick. I used to keep piranha about 25 years ago and usually fed them liver. Well I had the bright idea of using a small piece of lean ground beef once to hold me over when I didn't have liver on hand. By the next morning the water looked milky and you wouldn't believe the stink through the house. It was the fat content that did it. I lived at home at the time so it should come as no surprise that my mother was a little more than upset. I can't remember a time I ever saw her more animated lol.

No, don't use either, stick with BH. That way you know the fat is trimmed out as long as you do it yourself. Better safe than sorry rather than trying to take shortcuts. And the mexican grocery store would be your safest bet where to find it........
