Just putting in my two cents. AngelsPlus angels are the bright red shown in the picture. I have several. When you get them from Steve they will be just like his pictures. I feed my Angels the food he sells and they stay that bright. I recently purchased a pair from him and am anxious to see what the fry look like.

There been some reds from the Czech republic that had full body red color that was weird looking not like Steve's, and that color would desipate in time.
    Similar to these https://www.azgardens.com/freshwater...angelfish.html
They actually had the same with apistos.

^ IMO those are just blue blushers that have been either hormoned or color-fed with carophyll pink to turn them red. That's why they fade. They've been around for over a decade. Steve at Angels Plus tried them at one point to see if they bred true and they didn't. I think the result was just blue blushing fry.

These are AngelsPlus koi selects after a year in my tank.

They look orange in this iPhone pic, but are more reddish orange to my eye. What I like about Steve's fish is that they always have good body shape. These are close, but not quite, a diamond. They have only been fed beef heart, earth worm flakes and TetraCichlid flakes. The latter contains some food dyes, but do not list carotenoids or xanthophylls that fish would naturally accumulate. As you can see, the color holds up fine.

The video on the first page looks like what I see posted by Mellow Aquatics. Their kois have more coverage but are typically more yellowish in appearance. More than one angelfish breeder have told me that combining genetics from these two do not improve either color intensity or coverage on kois. Personally, I prefer more intense color in the crown over total coverage.

Good luck with your fish, Willie
