    Default Wipe down of tank

I have read here that a wipe down of the tank is important. My Question is how often should a community tank be wiped down? What product do you use, how do you do it?

I've taken a sponge and only wiped down every 6 weeks or so when I notice a build up on the glass.

    What do you do?

Your water regimen probably never ever needs a wipedown?

In my bare bottom QT I found there was a slime or whatever coating on the glass. Even with daily
    water changes.

I wipe down my tanks with filter foam. I only do it when I see any build up.

I use paper towel, and I wipe twice a day during my water changes. I also wipe the silicon and the suction cups, which I have found to be very slimey at times.

The younger my discus the more I do it, daily on fry tank, squeeze sponge filter three times a week gently in tank water. The wilds I do the least wiping on they seem to hate me doing it so I mess around less as they are pretty well grown out

I wipe down my tank and everything with filter foam, once a week. I let the plecos do the job as well.

lol, what I mean that I leave the slimes on the glass, so the plecos will not bother my discus. If I wipe and keep the tank clean all the time, plecos would have a hard time to find slimes to eat, and they would start bothering the discus.
