Unlikely these days to get rid of flukes. Whilst it may seem scary, it is relatively straight forward and can be very effective. Just take your time and don't panic What it will achieve is to cause the fish to shed slime, this will help with the one with slime coated gills, it should help the fish shed that slime.

Use any salt, I use the cheapest salt I can get (which is usually Tesco cooking salt).

Ok, did the salt dip last night....left him in about 25 minutes. Put him back in the tank. He was swimming around more but sort of dark colored. Still dark this morning.

I have added it twice with water changes the next day. I did not do a water change last night. I was going to add the prazipro again tonight. Does this sound about right? Or should I be doing a water change "every" night and redosing?

I'd do daily water changes and re-dose accordingly. I've found the dosing guide on the prazipro bottle to dose a little low, my vet friends tell me we should be aiming for 2mg/litre for prazinquantel.

Several of these are not eating now. I moved the oldest one to another aquarium with a couple Dwarf Grouami's and 2 Black Neon Tetras. I did another salt dip on him first. I removed all the driftwood with plants from the big aquarium. I just don't get it. It seems the more I change water the worse they get. I have checked water and cannot find anything wrong. I did check the tap and have about .5 on nitrates coming out of the faucet. I do not age the water, could the micro bubbles be bothering that much? The only thing that changed a few weeks ago is....I added a plant attached to driftwood, added a Ram which had been in my other tank for a few weeks and that was it. Don't know if this is what started everything or the bullying. I am lost here....

Well, I have done 3 salt dips on the oldest one. Still shedding gill mucus. I put him back in the original tank. He is still not eating. Several of the others are snubbing the food also. One has stringy white poo which I don't understand. He was having dark poo just before all this started. I am continuing the Metro and PraziPro. Not sure where to go??

Perhaps a spell of just clean water for a week or so and see how they do.

I'm so glad I found this thread! It's exactly what i believe I'm dealing with (one gill really red, flapping out hard, other gill hardly moving). Will prazi and metro IN FOOD work? I hate putting meds in the tank, but I have both of these medicated foods.....
