imo coloring is based on its strain/age. It will color up eventually. And also 2inch is pretty babies,so no worries.

It's not at all unusual for strains of that type to not be coloring up yet, be patient. I've got RTs 2 1/2" or so just starting to show color.

Awesome thanks guys and also would you recommend still using a uv steralizer after 3" in size or will they be able to fight off most parasites with daily water changes ? I only started using uv after I randomly lost several spawns for no reason one by one after they reached the size of a nickel and couldn't get them past a quarter in size, since the uv they pound the glass for food and have been growing really fast
    I appreciate all the advice
    Thanks

Sorry, I've never used UV. Glad it's seemed to solve the problems you were having. I've never had much trouble with batches beyond 2 months old.

Your 14 bar (SS) fish will always take longer to color up than the turqs/9 bar fish.

I have raised literally thousands and thousand of discus and I have never used UV. Young discus should require nothing more then clean warm water and lots of food. You might want to check your fish for gill flukes.

My thoughts are that if the fish survive it will be the hardiest, will use of a UV help promote a weaker strain?
