I am assuming that the pvc provides the return water. Does it simply just spray forward from the position shown? Does this make a mess at all? I'm curious.

As Tim stated it's to drain water. In the photo Tim disconnected the drain PVC pipe with strainer that goes into the tank. The way it's setup you can connect and disconnect the drain pipe.

The system works on siphon assisted by a pump that drain 1100 GPH to speed the draining process.

Would you mind expanding on that? I'm just not seeing it from the pic. I'm working on a draining system as well which is why I ask.

Now I get it. I was missing that last piece because the OP didn't have it. How do you keep a siphon with such a system?

Siphon is retain where the stop valve is close as shown below. When the stop valve is open siphon will will continue to drain the tank. There's also a main stop valve that is by the pump.

This next pictures shows siphon retain in the rest of the PVC pipe when the main stop valve is close. At all times there's always water in the PVC pipe which retain the siphon.

Im doing fishroom build this weekend.
Do u lose siphon if water is drained below strainer?
If u lose it then how do u get back?
How do u return water back in?

Also what did u use for the white background?
Still debating to paint or use attach background color.

I thought my plan was set but now its all over the place!

Do you have to prime it or something the first time you use it?
