Default Best filter media for anaerobic bacteria

Guys i found this guy who sells the media called biohome.

    http://youtu.be/SOE9tpX-yoA

It claims to contain aerobic bacteria on outside for ammonia and nitrite conversion but also contains anaerobic bacteria inside media for nitrate conversion?
Does this make sense and something worth looking into?
Im planning on k1 media for all my sumps but was thinking of adding biohome in addition to k1.
This is in no way to reduce or eliminate wcs but i mainly wanna know if anyone has tried it.
And did it really help reduce nitrate?

I just Put Some in my sump and have more on the way it comes with little black bacteria balls I ordered mine from Great Wave Engineering. He's called the Pondguru on youtu Time will tell to see if this works. Big koi fish breeders in Asia use it and love it from whet I read thay even resell the used media.

    I tried that media....

    Crumbles in your hand basically.

"Media" is not the key with bacteria... its doesn't care what it grows on.

    Conditions are key.

Provide the conditions needed for anaerobic bacteria and it will live there.

The type of media only matters when needing a specific type for a specific method of filtration. With that said, obviously depending on the method of filtration being used, there certainly are key characteristics you would want to look for in your media.

Crumbling sand is not one of them... regardless of the claims.

Joey i got inspiration from your K1 media sumps and building a bunch of them. i also plan on using marine pure maybe. have u heard of those also?
btw im gonna use k1 in 50gal sump for 200/180 stacked tank and 32 gal brute container for 300/125 gal combo.
is that enough? media will fill most of the sump area.

i have not heard of marine pure before. However, a quick google search and i see its just a ceramic media. Will work as good as any.

For the K1 filter... that depends entirely on how much K1 you are using and what your stocking is.
