It always happens to me. It seems like every time I am going on vacation that pair of fish that I tried so hard to spawn, spawns.


My Tefe pair laid eggs, they should be at the free swimming stage today, my San merahs laid eggs yesterday. I will be in Telluride Co for a week starting on the 18th

The drive is a little too far. I do not have a lot of hope for this batch but maybe the next batch will do better.

They will be fine with the parents. I went on vacation and came back with attachment in the same situation you are in now. Just make sure not to feed parents 24 hours before you leave. Parents will be fine without any food until you return. Fry will just feed off parents.

This is true, as long as the batch of fry isn't too big (size and number). The danger in that case is that the fry can actually eat the parents to death.

True but only if the batch is 2-3 weeks old free swimming But in this case the first week should be fine.

Partially agreed Saykham. Very early batches are fine, but bit risky with even a decent batch of week old fry's for a week vacation. Odd is whether the risk worth the Parents

Right, I wouldn't be comfortable leaving 200+ fry with the parents for 7 days that were going to be a week and a half old when I got back.

It looks like I may have 20 or so fry, I will leave them with the parents.
