    Default Digging thru old boxes

Like it says, I was digging thru some old boxes, one said "Fish Books". One in particular had to be the first Discus book I ever got as a kid, somewhere around it's copyright date of 1980. Jump forward 34 years and I can't believe I still have it, lol. As I sat in bed last night reading it, it brought back some memories of being 8 years old and sneaking the flashlight upstairs so I could read after bedtime.

Simply titled, DISCUS. Written by Tony Silva and Barbara Kotlar, © 1980 by T.F.H. Publications.

I think I'm gonna hold on to it for a bit and compare it to a couple others I have in my place. Curious to see what, if any, changes have been made.

Leaps and bounds I'm sure, but it is nice to have the memory.

Lol this is a neat find. That discus on the front looks pretty crappy though lol. It's very dark.

One of my first books as well. That's a Brown Discus on the cover...pretty common strain back then. Some good info. Not a "picture" book like most out there...Bill

I remember reading several discus articles by Tony Silva in TFH magazine in the 80s. He seemed pretty knowledgeable at the time. I think he was in Florida back then and working with both wilds and domestics. I wonder what ever happened to him?

I had that book as well when I acquired my first discus in Chicago. I bought the book, then the fish.
