    Default Flooded basement

As some know we are in the process of moving to Wisconsin. Last week we moved 90% of out stuff. The past few days Mother Nature has pounded us with rain. Cedar Rapids has flash flooding like crazy. I called my sister to check on the house for water in the basement and storm damage. Each time she checked it was fine. Well today a friend of ours who had three feet of water in his basement called to vent and we told him to grab our dehumidifier out of our basement. Well guess what!? Our basement has about 4-5 inches of water in it. I told my wife that all the sh!t she gave me for over flowing tanks and aging barrels never amounted to this so she owes me an apology. So now I'm sitting waiting for water to pump out of the basement. Hind sight 20/20 I shouldn't have sold that pump to Allwin bc I had to buy another one! Wish I didn't have to drive back so I could drink about 30 beers and float around on a pool raft.

It's a pita, that's about it. Only thing I'm really ticked about is I have a 6ft nice wooden tank stand down there. What I'm thankful for is it was made by an old guy who bought good wood and put a lot of varnish on it and it was on the shallow end of the water.

Dug through my fish stuff I was selling and found my submersible pump and hooked it up to my python hose. Seems to be working better than the pump we just bought. Lol still ALOT of water left. Should be pumping around 800gph now

Sorry to hear Brandon, wish some of us were closer to give u a hand. Even in Naperville, we had enough rain in the last 2 days and several flash flooded zones.

Sorry to hear that Brandon. As Keith said, let me tell you about my battles with Mother nature and wet floors. It is a PITA for sure.

    Hope no serious damage buddy.

Update! Found out today that a company was doing direction boring and hit a lot of people's sewer lines. Mine happened to be one. So the guy from the city who was just here said that the company should be paying for all work being done and damages caused. Might make out ok with some new tank stands lol

Brandon, sorry to hear that but wouldn't that make your house more valuable now that it has an indoor swimming pool?
