    Default Discus stock

I have always read 6-8 adult duscus in a 75 gallon
I'm curious if anyone has read the blog on Mac's discus and followed that stocking? Blog reads:
If one cleans their tank and gravel once every 5 to 7 days on a regular basis, completes a 25% water change, and does not overfeed, you can stock a 100-gallon tank with 35 to 40 adult Discus fish.

I would avoid placing merit in anything Mac's says...

I have 8-9 adult discus in a 120 gal. 40 perhaps if you are a distributor doing 80-90% daily water changes and selling them as quickly as possible…

I've seen some really bad, runted and sick fish come from that place. IMO, their quality is as bad as their advice...

Discus aren't that hard to keep as long as you understand their requirements and are willing to commit to them. A seller that willingly promotes bad advice is in it only for repeat business, and intentionally telling customers to over-stock is bad advice!!

In order to reach their full potential, discus need lots of protein and clean water...

It’s great advice if your trying to sell discus. Other than that it’s wrong. Sad thing is people read that and believe
    it.
