Not having the best day for some reason the fry are not so much on the parents they are all over the tank the parents are trying to get them all to one spot but there are so many it isn't working why would they attach and then not is this normal

How are the attachment going on today?

Since they were new parents, so many things can disturb them. I would try covering the sides with a plain white paper to give them some privacy.

hi there yes they are new parents we are at work so hoping the fry are still there when we get home from all the reading we did it doesn't seem to be the parents they are doing everything to keep the fry with them the fry just seem to feed off of both parents for awhile every few hours then they are spread out abit like going to the glass and when any of the fry go to far the one parent will dump the fry they have on them to the other parent and go get the ones that seem to be lost and bring them back with the rest the parent seem to us to be doing there job the water level is as low as we can get it the fry are almost 4 days old so we are going to start them on bbs when we get home Terry started up one of the hatcheries yesterday so it will be ready when we get home .

Got home today everything still seems to be going well fed the fry first batch of bbs they seem to like it their tummies are abit orange lol. The male doesn't seem to like it much he was a bit weird and breathing hard at first but seems to have calmed down now. I tried to load a short video but photo-bucket wouldn't let me so I will try again. So this is a pic from first day to today they have grown so I guess I may have over reacted abit about them not feeding off the parents

Looking Good! It's amazing how quickly they will grow now that they've started eating bbs. Fun to watch.

update : These guys are 11 days old today this pic was taken on fri so they are alittle bigger but it is super hard to take pics of them I don't have a great camera I use my ipad or iphone which don't get the best pics cause they are so fast they don't stop or slow down makes no wonders they are always hungry so far so good they are doing really well)

Hey abc1234, our feeding consist of two large feeding of BBS per day, one at 6:00 AM and one at 6:00 PM and in beween these feedings we feed 2 -3 time a day a mixture of First Bites and ground TetraColor Tropical Granules.
