Yours look pretty good. I got 20 from John yesterday. They all eat brine shrimp well so far, but a few look like they had suffered from fin rot or columnaris. I am treating mine with a full course of Furan 2 just to be safe.

What are you eating? Are you doing anything special to your water?

So far they are eating frozen Hikari Brine Shrimp, Hikari Blood Worms, and some Hikari sinking micro wafers...I have some Hans frozen beef mix I'm going to try...They came in all very clean looking, no blemishes on their body or fins, and all uniform in size...I don't detect any internal parasites.

Just clean water at 82 degrees...RO water mixed with my tap water...Good Luck with yours hope you can grow them big

What filteration and water changing regime do you use? I also have some Altums. Fully grown, they really rival Discus in their beauty.

Hello Discus STU, I change 40%-50% once a week RO mix with my tap water...I'm using an Eheim thermofilter Pro3.

I agree with you on their beauty!

I lost one of my twenty tonight. It was the one that arrived with the most fin damage so I am not entirely surprised. Maybe a little surprised that it took nearly a week and was eating up until two days ago. I have been treating with Furan 2 and while none of them look worse, not many of their fins look any better than a week ago. Nearly all of them arrived with fin damage, but are still eating well so I hope they will start to repair themselves soon.

    How are yours doing?

Hopefully with your continued feedings and clean water changes they repair themselves...Post some pictures if you can.

Mine are still doing great, active and eating well...No signs of diseases internal or external.
