    Default My Son

Yesterday my oldest was sworn in to the U.S. ARMY. Today is his first day of Boot Camp. I hope he does good.

You must be proud. That is a BIG decision for a young man. He will do well, I am sure.

Big decision, I remember being in a room almost exactly like that doing the same about 6 years ago. I'd make the decision over and over again if I had to, I'm sure you are proud of him. Its a tough stretch but in the end very worthwhile and rewarding for both the parents and himself. Where did he head to bootcamp at?

Yeah, I bet summer is brutal. I have three cousins in the Marines and one in the Army National Guard. Just be sure to send him letters of support and encouragement and he'll do well. My cousins all said their strong support system back home helped get them through basic.

I know when I was in boot camp and I got care packages from home with cookies and stuff like that . it was the best. I am still waiting to hear from him so I can get the address to send stuff

Yeah letters and news from home helped me. I wasn't allowed any cookies or anything like that, they would of gone straight to the drill instructors and it would if been a bad day for me lol.
