Default 220 Wild and a new Tank

I've been wanting to split out some of the wild reds from the 220. Ideally I would like to keep the number down to about 1 per 20 gallons or more. Problem was what to do with the ones that come out of the tank. Solution........a new wild tank, lol. I decided to replace a 60 that was sitting next to the 220 with a new tank. The footprint of the new tank needed to be the same as the 60 which was 48 x 18. I posted on our local club forum to see if anyone had a 90 available and ended up even better than that with a 110 - 48 x 18 x 27. I picked it up Friday night and spent yesterday setting it up. I really love the size of this tank.

The 220 now has 2 Cuipeua super red from Snookin and the rest are from Mark (Discus Origins) - 2 Lago Soloman, 1 Trombeta, 1 semi royal Cuipeua and 1 Intervina semi royal. I also have two Cuipeua select that are about 4.5" in another tank still growing out that will move here when they get a little bigger.

In the new 110 all the fish are from Snookin. 3 Blues, 1 Royal and 3 Cuipeua super reds. I'll eventually end up pulling one of these from the tank to get it down to 6 total.

    220

The fish in both tanks look awesome Larry and I do believe I see some possible females in both tanks.

Are you going to put a background in the 110?

Thanks Rufus. I'm very pleased with them. Both of these tanks are in what I call my fishroom annex. I out grew the fishroom and these are in the overflow area. The nice thing is this is a open room so I have a rolling office chair right in front of them. I like looking at all my fish and tanks but this is where I sit and stare.

Thanks Pat. All my wilds have been maturing nicely. I need to get some pics of the heckels also but they are in a 125 that is hard to get in front of for pics.

I do hope I have some females in both tanks now. I pulled what I thought were males from the 220 to go in the new 110. The blues I put in the tank I am hopeful are females. They are almost completely solid and fairly red. My understanding is that female blues get pretty red.

I might put a background on the tank but right now I like the blue. Seems to pull out some of the colors of the fish. Will have to give it some thought.

Thanks for the compliment. All the wood except for one piece in the 110 came from a sponsor here. He has some beautiful manzanita.

The other piece came with the 110.
