Thread: Journal for my 90 gallon NPT

Well my boyfriend is gonna hate me for this but I am gonna tear down my planted tank and just do a thin layer of sand and driftwood like I did in my 110. I have been watching the fish navigate the 110 and I just realized that I prefer the driftwood only over plants.
In a planted tank the plants take your eyes away from the discus and it becomes a large beautiful scene. The driftwood tank showcases the discus and highlights their beauty and grace.

Yes, it takes time to realize that but it usually comes to many of us when we compare. It seems like the discus pop out at you when there is less distraction of the plants. IMO and obviously in your opinion as well. I've been sitting looking at my two 125 gallon bare bottom with just drift wood for most of the night. Take care. Rufus

Lol well that makes two of us. I had to tear myself away just to get ready for bed. It's truly breathtaking, I feel so blessed to even get to have such a beautiful tank of discus.

Just picked up the driftwood for this tank; now I am off to Lowes to pick up to send that I need and then I'll be headed back home to set up the tank.

Alright it's done; this is the new hardscape. I just need to get a black background for the tank.

Tank looks good. If you put some form of backing on it, it may look even better, seeing the blinds and whatnot through the tank is distracting.
